MES Applications Architect

The company

For well-known production company with a market leading position I’m looking for a experienced MES Specialist to join the head office in Weert (The Netherlands). The company has several branches located in Europe, the Americas and Australia and employs over 4,000 people.

The job

The MES Applications Architect provides advanced troubleshooting support and design capability for production and process control systems. While you may not constantly use your specialist skills they can be called upon as a last line of support for maintaining critical plant production.

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of Production planning, reporting, measurement and control solutions to meet production requirements
  • Ensure overall stability and sustainability of current production systems landscape 
  • Provide support as required, including liaison and co-ordination with internal and outsourced support service provider/s
  • Interact with relevant business stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for enhancements and improvement projects – interact with sites on a regular basis (as opposed to office bound role)
  • Recommend solution improvements as required at a process, functional, data and reporting level
  • Applies specialist knowledge in production protocols for troubleshooting
  • Applies advanced problem-solving abilities to any challenge presented
  • Manage outsourced serviced provider against SLA for incident , service requests and project delivery
  • Co-ordinate and participate in testing activities for incidents, enhancements and projects
  • Train end users as required.
  • Project manage initiatives within functional area of responsibility
  • Co-ordinate service introduction from IT to business for any new or changed solution components
  • Pro-actively identify integration points to other solution components when production system changes or other dependent system changes are made

  • Experience working with variety of automated and process control systems
  • Advanced PLC programming (structured text, function block, ladder) and inter processor comms experienc

 

Requirements

  • 7 – 10 years in a similar role
  • 5 – 7  years exposure and / or experience within the following system landscape or equivalent:
  • Laboratory Information Management Systems or LIMS
  • Data Historians (Honeywell PHD and OSI PI) and knowledge of data transfer mechanisms
  • Understanding of SCADA, DCS, PLC
  • Knowledge of weighbridge system workings and integration requirements
  • Knowledge of or experience with automated truck loading systems and integration requirements
  • Knowledge of or experience with electricity monitoring systems and integration requirements
  • Knowledge of production reporting

The offer

You can expect a salary between the range of €85.000 and €95.000 gross per year, a very attractive bonus scheme and 29 vacation days.
